Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein: Malaysia has decided to reopen its embassy in Baghdad

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein announced at a joint press conference with his Malaysian counterpart Zambri Abdul Kadir the decision of Malaysia to reopen its embassy in Baghdad. The meeting addressed several mutual issues, including discussing the experience of the Malaysian company Petronas in Iraq, which Hussein described as successful. Both parties also touched upon opportunities for economic cooperation, investment, and the exchange of visits between the citizens of the two countries without the need for entry visas.

Hussein emphasized the cultural and religious intersections between the two nations, stressing the mutual desire to strengthen relations. For his part, the Malaysian Foreign Minister expressed his country’s desire to deepen relations with Iraq, noting that the purpose of his visit was to affirm the reopening of the embassy and to develop relations under the sponsorship of the Malaysian Prime Minister.
